Responsibilities:

The Tool Room Lead - Journeyman Machinist will perform all processes required to manufacture prototype/fixture components/tool modifications per delivery schedule following engineering drawing and quality specifications.

This includes the following:

Processes include set up and operating CNC Lathes and Mills, set up and operating manual equipment, fixture assembly, hydraulic plumbing, and testing.

Dimensional and visual inspections of products using various measuring equipment and tools including calipers, micrometers, or any other measuring tools that may be required.

When issues arise that impact component quality and/or routed steps, identify the root cause and recommend a solution.

The Tool Room Lead - Journeyman Machinist does program edits based on print modifications.

Modifying cutting tools or tool holders.

Performing fixture modification.

Assist with machining production related tool and holder modifications as directed by the supervisor.

Maintain clean work area, adhere to all safety policies and procedures, and implement/sustain 5S principles.

Tool Room Lead - Journeyman Machinist needs 2-5 years of Tool Room experience.

5 years of CNC Lathe and Mill Programming and Setup operational experience.

Experience with writing/editing programs and set up in multiple types of CNC Lathes and Mills.

Ability to use CAD/CAM software.

Geometry and algebra knowledge.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerances.

Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions.

The Tool Room Lead - Journeyman Machinist needs to have the ability to set up and operate various inspection tools and equipment.

Must be able to work with high level of urgency.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

High School Diploma or equivalent GED.

Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds and alternately sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time.
