The College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for an College Academic Data Manager position within the office of Undergraduate Academic Programs and Administration. The position will work in conjunction with The College, the University and College Registrars, and the Admissions office to maintain accurate and timely data within our academic enterprise systems for over 11,000 undergraduate students within Arts & Sciences.

This is a unique new position at UVA that will touch on, but not be limited to: regular analysis and maintenance of A&S undergraduate student data within our Student Information System (SIS) to ensure accuracy of data; assisting with evaluation of student transcripts, scores, and transfer credits; evaluating systems and processes and making recommendations for changes or updates; assisting with data processing and database maintenance; working with an array of academic-related software such as UVA's SIS, Slate, Perceptive Content, and DocuSign; and other duties as assigned by the Associate Dean. This position reports directly to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Programs with strong ties to the College Registrar, the College Academic Programs Manager, and the Assistant Dean for Transfer Students.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree and at least four years of relevant experience is required. Related experience in a higher ed academic administrative setting is strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, employers, and staff. The successful candidate will have the ability to learn an array of information relative to A&S General Education Requirements, Major Requirements and Degree Requirements. Some prior knowledge of A&S academic requirements is preferred.

In addition, the ability to evaluate/assess customer needs, apply information, and/or make appropriate referrals is required. A demonstrated attention to detail and excellent oral and written communication in daily interactions is essential. The ability to manage multiple tasks and projects while meeting deadlines is also required. The ideal candidate must have the ability to organize and prioritize assignments as well as possess effective, professional interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is critical, as is knowledge of general record-keeping practices. The candidate must also possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (with a focus on Excel and/or Access) and Database applications. Office 365 applications, SIS and UBI, and Slate are preferred. Other job-related software skills can be taught on the job.
