In your Facilities Technician role, you'll help us deliver better care for billions of people around the world. This position is a working lead, directing the activities of maintenance mechanics in internal data center activities along with coordination of activities related to the external grounds crew. He/she must have a complete understanding of building utility systems including plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems. The incumbent must possess proven leadership skills and exercise independent judgment in preparing maintenance work plans. The position requires a high degree of personal integrity, trustworthiness, and dependability: along with the ability to cope with pressures of emergency action and schedule timeframes. Must be able to work effectively within a maintenance team and with contractors as required. Must communicate more serious problems and their solutions with the TCC Facilities Manager. Assist and direct team members, maximizing utilization of talents available. Works with team members on maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment such as fans, plumbing, motors, pumps, electrical, pneumatic, chemical equipment, direct digital control (DDC), chillers, etc. Monitors work progress and keeps Team Leader informed. Able to use electronic purchasing system. Operates and programs DDC systems. Must maintain water treatment systems, chemical inventories and assign Health Hazard stickers to all chemicals in department use. Responsibilities: Perform skilled electrical and mechanical maintenance and repair activities to ensure Kimberly-Clark facilities and equipment at the Telecommunications Center are operating effectively, safety and without interruption of the Center's critical data processing function. Take control of building projects and renovations taking place at building or buildings of responsibility. Ability to work with contractors involved in projects and offer input to make the project flow smoothly and function properly with the other building functions. Recommend procedures and back-up methods to maintain and improve reliability and efficiency of the TCC facilities staff. Functional direction to the vendors associated with the maintenance and repairs at all TCC facilities. Assist and direct outside contractors in major repairs and construction projects of a high priority nature to ensure their timely completion. Operate a computerized maintenance system to gather data to effectively manage the maintenance department. Assist Facility Manager in setting up preventive maintenance schedules and ticklers to ensure they are adhered to and activities properly documented. Requisition and follow-up on needed materials and repair parts. Customer relationship management to identify, plan and deliver effective maintenance solutions. Vendor liaison management to develop, coordinate and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and coordinate their activities with Kimberly-Clark staff. Associates degree or comparable years of experience in the electrical or mechanical field with 3+ years of experience in facilities operations A preferred candidate would have a journeyman certification in either the electrical or mechanical field Must have operational knowledge and technical ability to trouble-shoot industrial electrical, mechanical, HVAC, DDC, and pneumatic control systems. Knowledge of uninterruptable power supplies (UPS), generators, data center power and process-cooling systems is desirable. Position requires a comprehensive understanding of building operations to include all mechanical equipment and building components. Ability to read blueprints, schematics and have working knowledge of codes and OSHA regulations. Communication skills to allow effective interaction with all levels of employees and contractors.
