Our Roll-off Driver protects the public and the environment by safely transporting client wastes to an appropriate end facility. Minimum starting wage is $27 - $35 per hour with overtime applicable (paid weekly)! You will complete a multitude of waste hauling tasks to various facilities. You will primarily work alone, however as a valued member of the Bay West operation, you may be asked to assist crews working on Emergency Response projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive and operate roll-off trucks as well as be cross trained on vacuum trucks, box trucks and other service vehicles
  • Accurately preform pre-trip and post trip, and report deficiencies daily.
  • Label and manifest shipments in accordance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Interact with customers and provide superior customer service during all activities.
  • Maintain all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.
  • Maintain and protect all keep equipment in excellent condition.
  • Operate and troubleshoot routinely used tools and equipment.
  • Conduct hazardous waste operations and clean-up.
  • Develop summaries, generate photographic logs, and input field work documentation.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

Requirements:

  • Experience operating construction equipment (excavator, loader, skid steer)
  • Valid CDL Class A or B with applicable endorsements (Air Brakes, Tanker, and Haz-Mat) or ability to achieve additional endorsements within first 120 days of employment; cannot have an Automatic Transmission restriction
  • Ability to travel on over-the-road runs up to 75%; over-the-road runs will include trips to but not limited to Nebraska, Iowa, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Utah, Colorado, Texas, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Ohio. Ratio of over-the-road to local runs will vary based on client needs.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER (will provide for otherwise qualified candidate)
  • TWIC Card
  • Industrial Cleaning and Waste Manifesting experience
  • Ability to operate a forklift, skid steer, scissor, and articulating lift a plus
  • Roll-off, Dump Truck and Side-Dump experience
  • Experience operating various styles of vacuum trucks
  • Electronic Logging Device (ELD) experience

Physical Requirements Light to Medium Work:

  • Frequently required to stand, sit and/or walk for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motions: substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands and/or fingers (including reaching)
  • Work environment can include high heat, high humidity, and extreme cold
  • Frequently lifting, carrying, or exerting force on objects up to 25 pounds; occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Subject to a pre-employment physical and drug test and placed in random quarterly drug testing pool upon hire.
