ASSISTANT CONTROLLER

Overview:


We are currently looking for a talented Assistant Controller reporting into the VP Controller. As a key member of the finance team, the Assistant Controller's overarching responsibilities are to provide rock-solid GAAP financial information that is both insightful and actionable, and enables Senior Management to make effective decisions to improve business performance. The Assistant Controller will ensure the Company's internal control environment is strong and is operating effectively. The Assistant Controller will also work very closely with external auditors and other stakeholders (bankers, investors) to provide timely financial information.



Performance Objectives



  • Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives.

  • Manage month-end close; produce accurate, GAAP financials.

  • Prepare and report financial results, including variance analyses, to Senior Management.

  • Manage international consolidation as part of month-end closing.

  • Ensure the proper inventory of internal controls are in place to protect assets, prevent material misstatements and prevent fraud and waste.

  • Work with external auditors to ensure audits are completed timely and efficiently.

  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.

  • Continually look for ways to make the accounting function more efficient.




Required Qualifications/Skills



  • BS/BA in Accounting or Business Administration.

  • Current CPA (preferred).

  • 3+ years at a Public Accounting firm in an assurance / audit role (preferred).

  • 4+ years at high-growth company in a lead-level accounting role.

  • 10+ years of accounting-related work experience, including:

    • Strong knowledge of GAAP and technical accounting concepts; CPA required.

    • Prior lead-level experience in successful annual financial audits required.



  • Passion for financial technology innovation.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

  • Outstanding organization, time, and people management skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Results oriented, can thrive in a deadline driven environment.
