Position Description:

The CIRE Vaccine Education (Peer-to-Peer) Project Manager will oversee a project funded by the North Dakota Department of Health and Human Services (NDDHHS) that provides clinician-to-clinician education to healthcare providers about vaccine topics, including COVID-19, COVID-19 vaccines, strategies to improve immunization rates, and communication strategies for more productive conversations at the medical encounter.

The project manager will work with a group of vaccine champions (physicians, nurse practitioners, and/or physician assistants) to schedule and execute clinician-to-clinician educational visits for healthcare provider sites (clinics, local public health units, etc.) throughout the state of North Dakota. The project manager will coordinate all aspects of the project, including:
  • scheduling on-site educational sessions with healthcare providers sites throughout the state of North Dakota,
  • working with vaccine champions to schedule clinician-to-clinician visits,
  • traveling to clinic sites to facilitate each educational event,
  • working with the NDDHHS to identify high priority clinics for vaccine education, and
  • coordinating continuing education credits for each event.

The project manager will also oversee one graduate assistant working on the project. The project manager may be responsible for the delivery of some educational presentations, and may assist with the development and updating of educational materials and content.

Significant travel (some overnight) is required.

This position will have the option to work remotely. However, because of significant, regular travel throughout the state, the employee must be willing to live in or within close proximity to North Dakota.

This is a full-time, grant funded position through June 30, 2024.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in a health-related field OR a bachelor's degree with work experience in a health related field
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks with competing internal/external deadlines
  • Ability to organize project tasks to assure that deliverables are completed within designated time frames
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated professional aptitude and competency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and collaboration skills
  • Excellent organizational, planning, writing, and project management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, document preparation
  • Must be able to work flexible and extended hours (travel throughout the state required, occasionally overnight)
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in public health from a CEPH-accredited institution or a master's degree in a related field OR currently completing a master's degree in public health or related field OR a bachelor's degree with a minimum of two years of public health work experience
  • A master's degree in public health with an emphasis in infectious disease management, epidemiology, or related field
  • Skills that demonstrate expertise in vaccination and the understanding necessary to effectively communicate this knowledge
  • Expertise in COVID and COVID-19 vaccines
  • Previous experience in project management (e.g. in research, public health, or related field) OR previous experience coordinating events/activities
