A day in the life

The Data Integrity Engineer executes data quality and integrity processes, data verification, and test data management methodologies throughout the data lifecycle. This role performs data quality functions and testing in support of data solutions and establishes day-to-day operations, programs, policies, and procedures ensuring the quality and integrity of data assets according to program. The Data Integrity Engineer researches industry standards and technologies to build and maintain program integrity. This role requires the ability to write and execute queries for data validation along with a working knowledge of data warehousing.

 

Your responsibilities will include
  • Defines, documents, and executes data validation and user acceptance functions for data deliverables.
  • Develops and executes system test cases and documents results. Researches system issues and documents findings.
  • Provides validation of complex data that supports extract, transform, and load (ETL) programs.
  • Develops and executes data validation methods, tool usage, and program automation to perform data quality validation, identify data errors, and maintain the integrity of data assets. Performs verification and testing and other data integrity checks programmed into ETL code.
  • Defines and executes data integrity functions. Completes quality checks and testing in support of enterprise data warehouse assets.
  • Researches, recommends, and supports data integrity, quality, and test automation tooling and technologies.
  • Works with enterprise data owners to define data quality strategies and processes to maintain business data across the enterprise.
  • Researches reported data quality issues, identifies root causes, and recommends solutions.
  • Partners with others to perform analysis, problem determination, research, and resolution of data integrity or quality issues.

 

What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or related field
  • 3 years of experience in data integrity, data testing, or data quality.
  • Experience with SQL programming.
  • Previous experience in healthcare working with data quality methods, management, and automation highly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to problem solve
  • Intermediate researching skills
  • Good understanding of business analytics

  

Equivalent combination of education, experience or training determined to be acceptable by Human Resources may be substituted, unless regulated by contract or program standards

Job Posting Policy

Employees new to Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota are eligible to apply for positions within their assigned department after successfully completing 90-days in their role. For positions outside of their department, new employees should attain a minimum of six months of service before applying for a new role. Exceptions to this are acceptable, provided there is good business justification for making the move.
