Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting is a key member of SHINE's accounting team, owning the Board of Directors, internal and external financial reporting of the Company's results. In addition, this role and its staff are responsible for supporting new accounting pronouncement implementation and are instrumental in determining the accounting impact and treatment of acquisitions, divestitures, and other non-routine transactions. The role is an integral part of ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and transparency of our financial reporting function.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting will lead or be a key contributor to the Company's processes for:

  • GAAP-based financial statements including the Balance Sheet, Comprehensive Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, and Statement of Changes in Shareholders Equity
  • Quarterly footnote disclosures and Management's Discussion and Analysis
  • Pre- and post-consolidation analyses
  • Internal reporting and Business Segment analyses
  • Equity management, including maintaining the Company's Capitalization Table, stock-based compensation, and Earnings Per Share

In addition, the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting is expected to be familiar with and able to lead or assist in the following:

  • Technical accounting analysis and documentation of critical accounting matters as a result of business-driven events or transactions
  • External financial audit and/or government grant audit
  • Support close process for month, quarter, and year-end close
  • Approving journal entries and reconciliations for technical accounting matters
  • Internal control assessments, process documentation, and process optimization

The Company prefers employees to have an on-site presence of 70% or greater and will consider more flexible arrangements for the right candidate. For remote candidates, the Company requires on-site onboarding and on-site collaboration during critical reporting times, typically during quarter and year-end close.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • CPA
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in external reporting and technical accounting research
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring, evaluating and training staff
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements
  • Intermediate level skill in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant's ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant's eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
