Our client develops intelligent Laser processing solutions for manufacturing innovation and is located near St. Paul, MN. They are seeking highly motivated and energetic people interested in executing the system controls for Laser equipment. The Automation Technicians will ensure the functionality and quality of the process controls used in industrial Laser systems and material handling automation. They will work under the direction of the Engineering Manager.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot system controls for high-performance Laser processing equipment
- Integrate system control software with motion control systems & devices
- Development activities includes:
- Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Controls software testing
- Industrial electrical component integration - Coordinate with Controls Engineers and Project Managers in ensuring systems are fully operational and tested according to customer specifications prior to shipping
- Support system installation and field service team as needed
- Other duties as requested
Required Qualifications:
- Two-year Technical degree in Electrical Technology or related field
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and software development
- Knowledge of electrical/electronic components and diagnostic equipment
- Ability to read schematic diagrams and drawings
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong mathematical background
- Experience programming vision systems
- Experience in motion controls including: XY tables, encoders, robotics, linear motors, servo motors, VFDs
Physical Requirements:
- Extensive time working at a computer Workstation
- Working in a manufacturing environment
- Travel as required (10%)
