Position Purpose

The Finance Manager, Sourcing & Planning provides financial leadership, analytical insight, and thought partnership to maximize the effectiveness of operational leaders and drive profitability. The Finance Manager partners with business functions to achieve key financial and operational objectives, support strategic, business, and financial planning and measure performance/progress against stated objectives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide decision support and influence to the sourcing and planning teams through analysis, insights and guidance to allow business leaders to design and implement profitable business strategies, enhance cost efficiencies, and improve quality
  • Provide financial leadership through the annual budgeting and interim forecasting processes
  • Prepare, review and report monthly financial results to ensure accuracy and provide appropriate visibility to business leaders
  • Analyze and report on monthly business performance to drive business decisions and adjustments
  • Support development of material standards and estimates for new product development processes
  • Key project work will include business case development for operational and capital projects, support for supplier negotiations, metric "deep dive" analysis, and senior management project support

Position Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive financial analysis experience preferably in a decision support capacity
  • BA/BS Degree in business/finance/accounting/economics/related field; MBA preferred
  • Analytical skills, strong partnering & education skills to support work with non-financial management teams
  • Advanced financial modeling and analysis skills; forecast model building & experience a plus
  • Experience developing, following and continually improving monthly / quarterly processes / tools
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of profit growth drivers
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to present complex information in a usable format to a diverse audience
  • Ability to navigate a fact paced environment and embrace ambiguity
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; Intermediate MS PowerPoint & MS Word skills;
  • Knowledge of Oracle accounting systems and BI tools (Essbase, MS Power BI)
  • Self-driven, persuasive, independent and analytical thinker

  • Hybrid arrangement offering a balance of both on-site work at Sleep Number's Headquarters in Minneapolis, MN and remote work flexibility
