Responsibilities The FBWT Audit Remediation Senior Consultant helps clients re-design business process, design internal controls, and support the implementation of internal controls throughout the entity that impact Fund Balance with Treasury (FBWT) and the Statement of Budgetary Resources. + Supporting audit remediation activities, such as developing/updating process documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, and developing/implementing corrective action plans to address findings. + Performing recurring testing, such as testing internal controls, designing and executing Manager's Internal Controls Programs. + Providing targeted area support based on Component (e.g., Journal Vouchers, FBWT, Civilian Payroll, Military Payroll, Intra-Governmental transactions, etc.). + Manage and execute projects and provide guidance and direction for specific projects or sub-tasks. + Review all documentation prepared by more junior personnel and are responsible for initial drafting of final project reports prior to submission for approval job duty. + Primary liaison with the client workstream lead. Qualifications Required + Bachelors degree in a relevant field + Secret security clearance required + 3+ years of experience + Knowledge of federal financial statement audits as promulgated by the GAO Financial Audit, DoD Financial Management Regulations, OMB Circular A-136, Financial Reporting Requirements, Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Boards standards, and the Treasury Financial Manual. + Knowledge of four phases of audit (Planning, Internal Control, Testing and Reporting), and implementation of internal controls. + Skills in analytical and evaluative methods to assess information and prepare and present reports and briefings to senior leaders. + Experience with Fund Balance with Treasury or with business processes that impact the Statement of Budgetary Resources such as Journal Vouchers, Civilian Payroll, Military Payroll, and Intra-Governmental transactions. Desired + Demonstrates abilities and success with analyzing detailed finance and accounting processes to identify control gaps and improvement opportunities, facilitating audit requests and planning and performing tests of controls and balances. + Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills in presenting complex issues/material to senior Government officials and Flag-Level Officers. + Demonstrated experience working in complex environments with multiple POCs Additional Requirements The successful candidate must not be subject to employment restrictions from a former employer (such as a non-compete) that would prevent the candidate from performing the job responsibilities as described.
