Description:

$17.55 to $21.14/ hour. Overtime earned after 8 hours daily. Weekly pay.

Advancement positions and pay available with learning ability and excellent attendance and cooperation.

Summary: Meat Cutters properly, efficiently, and safely cut, trim or bone premium meat for packaging. Uses good knife skills to trim or remove bones from fore and hind quarters of all company proteins. Perform duties consistently well and within expected time periods. Produces high-quality cuts with minimum defects. Contributes a positive attitude to the team.

Primary Job Duties:

??? Skillfully use knives, meat hooks, and other assigned tools and equipment to trim or debone all proteins according to specifications, and with minimum abrasions, tears, and other defects.

??? Trim, or debone legs, loins, shoulders, racks and other carcass sections using high-quality cuts.

??? Deboners clean carcasses, cut and remove bones and fat loose from meat.

??? Insert knife in meat around bones to separate meat, fat, or tissue.

??? Produce optimum protein yields defined by company specifications.

??? Inspect meat products and remove defects, bruises, blemishes

??? Safely move products and by-product containers to assigned locations.

??? Follow quality procedures and consistently achieve quality standards.

??? Achieve expected production quantities.

??? Properly care for knives and other assigned tools, always keeping knives sharp to optimize quality and efficiency; and cleaning and storing tools as required after use.

??? Follow work procedures and company's critical control points according to company HACCP plan.

??? Clean work area during and after the shift.

??? Comply with all company safety requirements.

??? Remain aware of applicable product codes and specifications.

??? Demonstrate positive, cooperative behaviors and attitude.

??? Must maintain good attendance.

Requirements:

??? Must have good attendance.

??? Experience skillfully using and sharpening knives and other required tools to properly debone, cut and trim meat in a USDA food processing, retail, or restaurant business; or applicable butcher experience.

??? Excellent hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and attention to detail.

??? Ability to effectively communicate with other Boners and all Trimmers.

??? Punctual and reliable.

??? Courteous, cooperative, collaborative.

??? Ability to wear required PPE.

??? Eighteen years or older with ability to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

??? Willingness and general ability to work in other production areas as needed.

??? Ability to work Monday to Friday, eight hours daily with overtime as required, and some Saturdays upon notice. End times may vary based on production needs.

??? Able to work in a humid, refrigerated environment.

??? Able to frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasional lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds.
