POSITION SUMMARY:

The Document Control Specialist is responsible for the documentation control process, which includes Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, revision maintenance, Engineering Change Order management, and Requests for Change. Furthermore, the Document Control Coordinator collaborates with cross-functional teams such as engineering, quality assurance, project management, and marketing to produce high-quality, accurate, and concise product specification documents, technical manuals, and other customer and supplier documentation.

Realityworks, Inc. is located out of Eau Claire, WI. Full-time remote work or a hybrid work arrangement are available for the selected candidate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system and environment; oversees and distributes user licenses; trains new staff on using PLM software
Supports and manages Engineering Change Order process, including implementing documentation updates, gathering approvals, and communicating changes to internal and external stakeholders.
Supports and manages Requests for Change process, including receiving requests, prioritizing them with management, monitoring progress, and updating documentation through the Engineering Change Order process as appropriate.
Develops and manages documentation for Company products, both in development and during production; documentation requirements include but are not limited to customer requirements, technical specifications, and controlled information such as BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly procedures, and technical manuals
Ensures that technical documentation is accurate, complete, and meets editorial standards for spelling, grammar, paragraph structure, document formatting, and defining technical requirements in written format
Coordinates amongst design engineers to gather/edit system requirements, product design statements, BOMs, specifications, procedures, and other technical requirements in order to effectively capture, control, and communicate product revisions.
Work with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain a planned product change plan to coordinate development, purchasing, and production timelines.
Develops, utilizes, and maintains standard documentation templates and processes
Develops and maintains documentation library, both within and outside of the PLM system, and ensures adherence to electronic and hard copy file storage standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail
Ability to engage and work with developers and engineers to elicit content
Ability to work under deadline pressure and fast turnarounds
Ability to interpret mechanical drawings
Excellent grammatical, clerical, and proofreading skills

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
3+ years of relevant work experience
Experience producing and managing both written and verbal technical communication for cross-functional teams
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)

Experience working with PLM systems
Experience working with ERP systems
Experience creating and managing bills of materials
Experience managing manufacturing documents (procedures, specs, etc)
