FINANCE MANAGER

This is an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager (40 hrs./wk.) at our Jackson Street Administration Office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Directs and supervises the finance and purchasing departments. Monitor daily financial operations and oversee the monthly accounting process. Partners with the CFO as a transparent and direct sharer of financial information in a way that can be understood by Management and the Board for informed, strategic and innovative decision making.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent. Accounting degree preferred. CPA certification a plus. Minimum of three years of accounting or financial management roles required, nonprofit strongly preferred. Must have demonstrated supervisory experience.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The position is predominantly sedentary requiring the ability to sit, bend, stand and walk. May require occasional stooping, reaching, stair-climbing and repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard. Rarely requires kneeling, pushing/pulling and repetitive motions of the feet.

Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. Requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, fax, copy machine and adding machine or calculator.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The position is generally performed in an office environment but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is generally low to quiet. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. Reasonable accommodations, however, may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform said essential functions.

This position requires traveling statewide, therefore a valid driver's license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards is required. Must have reliable transportation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Directs and supervises the accounting department functions including revenue recognition, accounts payable, payroll and fixed asset management.
Oversees monthly close and reconciliation process.
Prepares monthly and annual financial statements and other financial reports as requested.
Works with the CFO to develop operating and grant budgets for PPWI.
implements financial policies and procedures to assure internal controls, cost effectiveness, maximization, and protection of the Agency's financial assets,
Works in collaboration with the CFO to establish and/or recommend agency-wide financial strategies, objectives and policies.
Coordinates all PPWI financial and grant audits.
Directs and supervises the purchasing department functions including procurement, inventory management, and warehouse oversight.
Organizes work activities to achieve quality and quantity standards established for the finance department and purchasing department.
