Job Summary: Northland Community and Technical College seeks a full-time unlimited Enrollment Specialist on the Thief River Falls campus. The Enrollment Specialist manages enrollment of students as defined by college processes. Enrollment specialists must interpret and apply NCTC and Minnesota State policies related to college and program admissions. This position includes responsibility to represent the college at career fairs and student recruitment events as assigned. The position also is responsible for managing specific assigned special events at the college which are designed to provide potential students, parents, or the public with access to information about NCTC. This position also serves as the point of contact and DSO for new incoming international students.

Principle Responsibilities and Results:
1. Provide admission information and advice to prospective students, family members and the public in general to facilitate admission into the college.
A. Maintain a thorough and comprehensive understanding of NCTC admissions processes including general student admissions, PSEO, International, and Special Program Admissions, as well as related processes associated with assessment, orientation, financial aid, and registration.
B. Meet with prospective students (walk-ins and scheduled appointments) and provide accurate and appropriate information regarding college programs, services, and resources.
C. Explain admissions requirements and deadlines to prospective students (including prospective international students) and assist them in completing necessary paperwork and/or online application.
D. Provide assistance to prospective students during on-campus recruitment events.
E. Respond to inquiries from prospective students via phone calls, emails, and letters on a regular basis.
F. Serve as an agent for the admissions email and respond to questions in a timely manner.
G. Collaborate with academic and student service partners to maintain a full understanding of program specific admissions requirements and available services so that proper referrals can be made.

2. Coordinate and participate in recruitment activities in support of the Enrollment Management Plan, including participating in CRM software use, conducting campus visits, and planning on-campus programming.
A. Travel to locations throughout Minnesota and North Dakota to represent the college at various college fairs, career fairs, and community and industry events.
B. Arrange high school visits and meet with counselors, individual students or groups of students to provide information about the college.
C. Create and deliver presentations for a wide variety of audiences.
D. Cultivate relationships with area high school counselors, other post-secondary admissions representatives, and area businesses to promote the college and its programs.
E. Determine distribution plan for publications and deliver materials to appropriate destinations.
F. Foster relationships with the business community and governmental agencies to promote a positive image of the college and share information about program offerings, customized training and various other services available through the college.
G. Work with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management and Marketing Department to create high impact messaging using provided CRM software.
H. Assist in developing on-campus recruitment events and open houses.
I. Coordinate and assist with campus tours for groups and/or individual prospective students. Provide training for peer leaders/student ambassadors on campus tours.
J. Assist with creation and implementation of new student planning such as orientation and preview days.
K. Serve as a representative for Student Affairs and Admissions on campus committees, when appropriate.

3. In collaboration with the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, serve as departmental liaison in the area of International student admissions and recruitment.
A. Serve as the International student contact (DSO) in responding to questions relating to international student admission from internal and external constituents including students and family members.
B. Review International admissions requirements, enter them in internal spreadsheets and in ISRS, and pass along recommendations to the PDSO/Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
C. Create I-20 for International students and mail them to their homes for SEVIS appointment.
D. Work with other DSO's and the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management to review applicant pool on a regular basis.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
• 2-year degree or diploma and two-years of related experience
• Proficiency with a variety of word processing, database and web-based applications sufficient to accurately collect data and create reports
• The ability to work with minimal supervision and ability to make decisions independently regarding workload, problems or situations
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse populations.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and management skills
• Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) in order to communicate effectively with students, employees without supervision or review
• Excellent human relations and interpersonal skills
• Willing to work as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate Degree in a related field, i.e. Human Resources, Public Administration, Social Work, or Education
• Experience in higher education
• Knowledge of public, private, and community social services and resource agencies sufficient to provide referrals to students
• Knowledge of private data practices and FERPA
• Knowledge of International Student Enrollment
• Experience providing academic and/or employment case management
• Knowledge of the functions of Academic Affairs and of Northland Community and Technical College
