North Dakota State University and the new National Science Foundation Great Plains Region I-Corps Hub invites motivated individuals to apply for the position of Hub Coordinator. The Hub Coordinator will be involved in building exciting and impactful programs from the ground up in order to grow a new generation of technology startups that can solve critical societal problems.

The Great Plains I-Corps Hub is a regional network of university-based inventors and entrepreneurs building and teaching programming designed to accelerate the translation of research into solutions that benefit society, enhance American independence, and create economic growth. The Great Plains I-Corp Hub prioritizes increasing new deep tech ventures in the Great Plains Region and enhancing team members' skills as researchers and mentors. The broad vision of the Hub is to foster regional communication about cross-technology innovation and pool important resources in order to enhance entrepreneurship across four Midwestern states.

The Great Plains Region Hub is led by North Dakota State University in collaboration with the University of North Dakota, South Dakota State University, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Dakota State University, the University of South Dakota, the University of Wyoming, and the University of Nebraska Omaha.

This position is possible through a five-year NSF grant (with a potential of renewal). It entails working with the Hub Director to manage the Hub, organizing regional training programs, and managing team recruiting logistics. Additionally, the Hub Coordinator will manage the standardization of I-Corps programs, and organize the hosting of regional cohorts at NDSU and across partners and affiliates. This position will be critical for ensuring that the I-Corps programs are delivered efficiently, rigorously, and effectively, while serving a broad range of participants and engaging with stockholders from the innovation ecosystem throughout NDSU and the broader region.

Work Schedule:

Monday thru Friday, regular NDSU office hours.

Some evening hours are possible during cohort session periods.

Advertised Salary:

Commensurate upon experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Valid Driver's license required - some travel required.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office.
  • Good interpersonal, oral & written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience with startup companies or I-Corps program.
  • Experience working with MOU, agreements, and multi-facetted teams.
  • Experience working in Business Development.
  • Experience with academic processes.
  • Grant management including report writing.
  • Minimum of two years of directly related experience in an administrative role.
  • Experience working with accounting & spreadsheets and managing budgets.
  • Ability to multitask across many functions, such financial, marketing and compliance.
