We are seeking an experienced revenue generator with a strong passion for sales. The Director of Sponsorship will drive revenue, create new assets and provide support across various departments. They will provide strong leadership in organization-wide projects focusing on revenue generating activity. This position is responsible for developing new multi-year partnerships as well as renewing existing partnerships. This individual will cultivate client-direct relationships across top brands on a local, regional, and national level with a focus on maximizing revenue. This position will report to a committee consisting of Athletics, Finance & Administration, the President's Office, NDSU Foundation and University Relations.

Responsibilities include:

Develops partnerships with customers that are strategically aligned with the University's mission
  • Makes long-term strategic decisions that reflect upon the campus as a whole to enhance the campus community.
  • Create annual and multi-year revenue plans, goals, and budgets
  • Establish and foster new corporate University partnerships.
  • Balance short-term business goals and long-term brand strategy to ensure needs are met and how to best align and partner with business areas based on needs.

Develop and implement University wide sponsorships
  • Oversee significant financial resources assuring productivity and resource generation are utilized to the University's advantage.
  • Work closely with multi-media rights to ensure there is mutual benefits for all parties by working to provide new revenue sources.
  • Negotiates and directs agreements with outside entities and other institutions.
  • Coordinates and engages with multiple key stakeholders including the President Office, University Relations, Finance & Administration, Athletics and NDSU Foundation to leverage sponsorship opportunities for university.
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments to create comprehensive sponsorship proposals, while ensuring a high level of internal communication.

Application of Brand Strategy
  • Ensure consistency in activations of the NDSU brand, specific on how the brand is translated into products, experiences, and socialization across the University.
  • Works closely with University Relations group on strategies to better utilize the NDSU brand.
  • Understand prospective partner brands and their competitors to develop solution-based platforms to amplify partners' brands and achieve their marketing objectives.
  • Ensure partner generate maximum value from partnership and communicate value appropriately.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or similar field with 5 years in sales, marketing, account management and/or brand management.
  • Ability to analyze a partner's marketing/branding needs based on their marketing targets and objectives and craft an integrated solution to meet those needs.
  • Proven track record of sales success and innovative sponsorship package development.
  • Knowledge of sponsorships; including promotions, events, brands and media.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Business or similar field

Salary: Starts at $120,000/year + based on experience and qualifications.
