AIM Principal - Investment Systems Developer (Investment Operations)

What you do: The Principal Investment Systems position develops software and tools to support the operational business systems and processes within Allianz Investment Management. The position applies systems knowledge to manage investment-related projects, working closely with vendors, asset managers, IT and business leaders. The position collaborates with AIM systems users to drive changes in automation, which includes redesigning systems and processes. This position also mentors junior developers by helping them work towards goals, overcome obstacles and plan for contingencies to ensure delivery. System Development: Utilize programming expertise (ex. C#) to translate business requirements into automated production quality code or develop efficient user interfaces to support daily operational flows for GA assets and data management. Drive key changes to the system landscape: assessing current technical environment, researching trends/new systems, review comparable insurance companies' investment systems to identify potential improvements. Identify best practices that increase scale and reduce cost. Release management: Support a project backlog of changes for future releases and prioritization using industry standard tools, Jira, Confluence, Git, Github. Maintain a software development lifecycle for General Account Investment Systems. Maintain clear communication with stakeholders and work to improve customer satisfaction by understanding needs. Business Application Expert: Technically represent AIM GA Operations when interacting with vendors or asset managers when discussing new data flows or implementing new data transmission methods (ex. SFTP file delivery). Actively listen and consider comments to ensure understanding of business relationships and strategy. Business Subject Matter Expert: Support the daily run state of AIM GA Operations by participating in daily run tasks to understand the processes executed to support a daily operating model and to identify areas of improvement. Express need for change by challenging the status quo and proposing innovative solutions for better efficiency. What you bring: 6+ years' experience required: Experience in writing production code for critical business systems. (C#/.NET preferred) Relevant technical and business work experience (Finance or investment systems knowledge) Four-year degree required: Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field Experienced in working across technology and business projects and managing inter-dependencies between them Adaptable, flexible and able to respond to changes in priorities Strong work ethic and a proactive, team-oriented approach What we offer: At Allianz Life, we're proud to provide a benefits package that supports the True Balance of our employees and their families.
