The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Automated Test Equipment and Tool Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering. In this role you will support the design and construction of test equipment and tools for several manufacturing assembly lines. You will partner with local and remote engineering, quality, manufacturing and test teams.
What you'll be doing: Mechanical engineering member of a team of manufacturing, quality, electrical and mechanical engineers responsible for the construction of electro-mechanical test equipment and tools for 5-10 medical device assembly lines.
??? These existing assembly lines require enhancements, improvements, and additions to improve quality and robustness of process.
??? Research and analyze the existing designs; propose, implement, and validate changes while following engineering build and change processes.
??? Develop and update supporting design and process documentation for all equipment.
This includes mechanical models, assembly drawings and build work instructions.
??? Assist with validation process to confirm the capability of new or enhanced tools and equipment.
??? Up to 10% travel may be required including foreign (Mexico) and domestic locations.
Qualifications:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology
??? 1-3 years of related experience.
??? Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applied to the design and implementation of manufacturing equipment.
??? Able to collaborate and communicate effectively with a geographically diverse team.
??? Able to read, interpret technical drawings, facility layouts, and component manuals/instructions and electrical schematics.
??? Experience with CAD software (Solidworks, CREO), creating solid models and assembly drawings.
Preferred:
Experience in Medical Device manufacturing or a similar regulated industry.
??? SAP experience is a plus.
