Cost Accountant

In the Cost Accountant role, the following activities are performed:

• Involvement in the capital process from determination of whether a project is eligible for capitalization through final plant-in-service classification while adhering to accounting guidance
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders to complete construction projects in a timely manner 
• Account for jointly owned generation plant costs as a part of month-end close responsibilities
• Assist the Lead Cost Accountant with maintaining our fixed asset system, including system integrations, resolving issues, and implementing enhancements. 
• Coordinate the workflow of project statuses between our different operating systems

Qualifications: If you enjoy interacting with many different areas and like to tackle each project as if it is like a puzzle by determining where pieces best fit, then this is the job for you!

• To be successful in this role, a degree in accounting, business, or equivalent is required.  
• An ideal Cost Accountant easily comprehends how information gets to and from different systems. 
• An intrinsically motivated individual that can pair efficiency with accuracy will feel good about the results that they achieve. 
• An individual who can evaluate facts and apply judgement in areas where the answer is not always clear will thrive. 
• Excellent time management skills and an analytical mindset are a must. 
• A successful candidate will be able to work independently and interact with the team to re-prioritize workload as necessary to meet business needs.
