The Department of Engineering Systems and Environment in the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to work in the lab of Professor Osman E. Ozbulut.

Professor Ozbulut is the director of the Resilient and Advanced Infrastructure Laboratory (RAIL), which aims to formulate innovations in design, materials and sensing technologies to advance a new generation of infrastructure systems. We seek candidates for work on a National Science Foundation (NSF)-funded research related to the development of large-scale seismic response control technologies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Candidates must have a PhD degree in a civil engineering by the time of the appointment. Preference will be given to individuals with expertise in experimental testing, earthquake engineering, and nonlinear dynamic analysis. A strong publication record and experiences with cyber-physical testing are preferred. Successful candidates will work directly with the PI and also assist graduate students in the lab.
