Network Technician

Duties

• Assist in the installation of workstation, servers and network infrastructure hardware such as firewalls, switches, etc.
• Troubleshoot networking hardware and software
• Provide hardware, software and networking support for customers and projects, on-site, via the telephone and via remote access tools
• Install and test network cabling
• Set-up and train Teams phone systems
• Produce documentation of networking projects
• Research products to provide management with defendable recommendations
• Maintain technical skills for future projects
• Other duties and assigned

Position Requirements

• Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 10 & 11)
• Knowledge in Microsoft Server operating systems and applications (Windows Server, Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft SQL Server)
• Knowledge and experience with earlier versions of Windows Server, Exchange and SQL is beneficial
• Knowledge in VMware and Hyper-V
• Knowledge in Veeam Backup & Replication
• Microsoft certifications beneficial
• Basic knowledge of networking
• Basic knowledge of cabling
• Basic knowledge of switches, routers, firewall’s, printers, SAN / NAS/ Disk Arrays beneficial

Other Important Skills

• Must have a valid driver’s license and a dependable vehicle to go to / from customer sites.
• Good communications Skills
• Good Interpersonal Skills

Experience

• Prefer at least 2 – 3 years of experience with servers, switches and firewalls.
• Entry level positions available.
