Job Details

Minnkota Power is seeking qualified applicants for an Operator Trainee at our Milton R. Young Power Plant near Center, ND.  The Milton R. Young Station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant, providing a stable energy source for our cooperative member-owners.  The station is located 35 miles from Bismarck, North Dakota, a growing and progressive city with many recreational opportunities.

This position is an entry level plant operations position which will lead to a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.  Successful applicants will assist in the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Performs building and ground maintenance activities
  • Leads to membership of the plant site Fire Brigade
  • Utilizes hand and power tools
  • Operates light vehicles, tractors, skid steer loaders and similar equipment
  • Performs heavy manual labor
  • Assembles and must work off scaffolding
  • Will be scheduled to work overtime on nights and weekends.

Certification or Associates Degree in Power or Process Technology or Industrial Technology preferred.  Must have good color vision and a valid driver\u0027s license.  Must be able to meet the physical and mental requirements of the position.
