Blair Fire Protection, a top industry leader in fire prevention and protection, has been saving lives and keeping property safe in Wisconsin for over 10 years. We are seeking a highly motivated Designer to join our team in Butler, WI.



The Fire Protection Designer will utilize computer-assisted drafting (AutoCAD) equipment to develop, review, and evaluate fire sprinkler design drawings. In this role, you will ensure project success with exceptional designs and become knowledgeable in fire codes to assist the sales and field technical teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An associate degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or mechanical design-related field is required
  • Previous Fire Protection or Construction industry experience is a plus but not required
  • AutoCAD / Drafting experience is required
  • 3-D modeling experience in programs such as Navisworks, Revit, or similar programs is desired
  • NICET Level I or II is preferred
  • AutoSprink by M.E.P. CAD, BIM modeling experience is a plus but not required
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.



Responsibilities:

  • Visit construction sites and work with general contractors, architects, engineers, and plan reviewers to ensure a code-compliant fire sprinkler system is designed
  • Communicate with the field superintendent, foreman, purchase manager, and project manager throughout construction to ensure a productive installation
  • Compile material lists and submittal packages for design projects
  • Perform hydraulic calculations following specifications for each job
  • Perform in-office design
  • Conduct on-site field surveys at current and potential project sites
