Barnes Industrial's Engineered Components has an exciting and challenging career opportunity for a Operations Manager at its AS-Milwaukee Division. We are seeking an experienced leader to play a key role in executing our business goals and objectives for profitable, sustainable growth. This includes implementing key business initiatives including lean manufacturing and helping develop people and teams. Leveraging our Barnes Enterprise System (BES) and cultivating a high-performance culture through employee engagement and empowerment, the Operations Manager will lead and ensure the successful implementation of key business initiatives to meet customer needs by driving innovation, operational excellence and productivity and consistently delivering on commitments. Core Responsibilities:

Responsibility for performance, development, and operations of key OEM value streams. Manage value streams with a result driven framework focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement to meet and exceed customer expectations and business goals.

Empowers teams with a servant leadership style that is collaborative, inclusive, and balanced in approach to drive and achieve results. Completely owns the numbers: from driving the development of KPI's, to leading improvement projects, owning on time delivery, profitability, and other operational objectives. Consistently executes daily operational requirements in alignment with the business plans.

Plans, leads, and directs value streams at the lowest cost consistent with established operating metrics/goals. Effectively integrates manufacturing, supply chain, and maintenance functions ensuring processes result in high quality throughput.

Effectively leads efforts to continuously improve the division's competitive position resulting in reduced manufacturing lead times, cost of poor quality and COS.

Provides leadership and employee development through selection/talent acquisition, performance management, training/development, coaching/mentoring, and motivation of operations employees in alignment with the business goals and objectives. Recognizes and rewards employees for their efforts to drive results the right way.

Plays a key role in the development and implementation of short and long-range plans for the growth of the division.

Leads and manages the areas of accountability to achieve short-term and long-term business success to achieve required operational performance. Plans and directs the overall activities that meets or exceeds established performance metrics including safety and environmental stewardship in alignment with the company vision, strategy, and BES.

In alignment with the BGI Corporate Values and competencies, effectively works with peers to enhance the performance of the overall Barnes Engineered Components business. Understands and embraces Enterprise Leadership as it relates to executing plans for the Milwaukee division while supporting the achievement of the overall short and long-term goals of Barnes Group.

Ensures the effective management of operating methods, budget spending, manpower/resource utilization and labor efficiency, and material scheduling and capacity planning. Achieves productivity and efficiency improvements through continuous improvement activities and Lean Manufacturing principles.

Attracts, develops, and retains qualified, talented people, creating and sustaining a high-performance culture. Organizes the business to execute and deliver promised results on a consistent basis - the right way.

Operates as a strong team leader and team builder focused on generating results through collaboration, influence and relationship building as much as direct line authority. Builds a passionate and driven leadership team that possesses unmatched intensity and professionalism who desire and understand how to win .

Qualifications :

A proven track record of progressive career advancement with 10+ years of operations, manufacturing, engineering experience preferably in a manufacturing environment.

At least 5 to 7 years of experience effectively leading and managing people with success implementing and executing employee relations strategies and creating a positive work environment.

Strong competencies in leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, cultural awareness, and organizational astuteness.

A customer advocate with the skills to develop and nurture long term relationships.

Strong business acumen and strategic thinking with demonstrated accomplishments. Proven performance setting and exceeding customer service goals and profit targets.

Impeccable integrity; Superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization.

Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and/or Six Sigma training a plus.

Prior new product introduction experience desired.

Demonstrated leadership effectiveness (EI). Must be an effective change leader; balances consistency with flexibility and willing to change ideas in the face of new information. Impeccable integrity; superior interpersonal skills; able to communicate and engage personnel at all levels of the organization. Emotionally intelligent change agent who challenges the status quo and acts with a sense of urgency to drive results. Has strong executive presence.

Extensive knowledge of spring design, manufacturing processes, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, complex problem solving and familiarity with AS9100 regulatory requirements within aerospace industry is preferred.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, or Operations or related discipline. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
