Description:

The Lead Electrical Engineer will serve as both an individual contributor and as a team leader. As a team leader, this engineer will direct the work of a small team of engineers who do not report into this role.

  • Leading a cross functional team to develop IoT technology and cellular and RF technologies.
  • The Lead Electrical Engineer will interface into the Integrated Product Team (IPT) as part of new product development activities. As part of the IPT, the Lead Electrical Engineer will be responsible for taking a design from concept, through development, and into production. This position may also be assigned to support new business pursuits and technology refreshes of current product.
  • Lead a small cross-functional product development team comprised of electrical, mechanical, and embedded software engineers through product definition, architecture development, design, integration, and qualification of new products.
  • Collaborate with a team of cross functional engineers, project engineers, and program managers to develop and deliver tailored, innovative, and affordable solutions to our customers.
  • Communicate directly with our customer's technical leads and subject matter experts to agree upon solutions to technical issues.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers.
  • Coordinate engineering design reviews and actively address technical risks in the product design.
  • Evaluate and escalate business risks and opportunities to leadership.
  • Establish and promote "best practices" and ensure compliance to design processes at the team and department level.
  • Assure design compliance to applicable EMI/EMC and environmental standards.
  • Lead the team to identify root cause and implement corrective actions for issues discovered during verification and qualification testing, customer integration, and product field failures.
  • Identify root cause for EMI/EMC/Environmental failures and lead a team to determine a fix.
  • Lead the team to develop the test strategy for EMI/EMC, environmental, and production testing.
  • Support robustness, HALT, and other stress testing methodologies.
  • Support project planning activities, including project resourcing, budget estimation, and schedule development.
  • Drive the team to meet project schedule milestones and key project metrics that meet the organization's and customer's needs
