- The Electrical Designer will be responsible for providing design services related to the development of installation construction packages for facility power distribution systems, grounding, and lighting system in industrial facilities.
- Participate in studies preparing cost estimates for electrical systems.
- Assist in specifying electrical system components for low voltage (
- Collaborate with electrical and process engineers, clients, Owners, and vendors.
- Work with engineering, design, and drafting staff to generate installation details, motor elementaries, and plan drawings identifying locations of motors, electrical loads, electrical equipment placement, and cable trays layouts.
- Assist in the develop project lists including Motor Control Center List, Motor List, and Cable List.
- Review and integrate Vendor equipment documentation into construction packages.
- Assist in the prepare bid, construction, and demo packages for contractor use, including written scope of work.
- Visit customer sites to gather field data for detailed design.
- Provide field support during construction, commissioning and start-up.
- Working knowledge of NEC and electrical construction methods and materials.
- Associated Degree in relevant field or three years' experience in electrical maintenance or engineering.
- Experience with electrical systems in the Pulp and Paper industry is preferred. Experience in other light and heavy industry is also acceptable.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite of applications.
- Proficiency in CAD software a plus, but not required. Ideally AutoCAD Electrical, E3D and/or Revit
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable with working in a team environment.
- Ability to travel within the United States to customer sites. Travel is not likely but may range from 10-15%.
