The Architect / Senior Manager position is a technical role responsible for architecture and design on solutions leveraging the ServiceNow platform, Java Microservices, RESTful API's and ServiceNow application integrations. This individual also has HR responsibility for two feature teams. The Architect / Senior Manager contributes to the structuring and implementation of solutions and takes overall ownership for the quality of the technical requirements delivered to the customer on the ServiceNow platform leveraging custom JavaScript. While this individual's primary focus is architecture for custom solution delivered on the ServiceNow platform, this individual will lead end to end solutions and teams that deliver ServiceNow as well as the integrations into and out of the ServiceNow platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Drive feature team development through coaching and leading by example
• Drive the overall technical design and direction of the developed product
• Define, at an architecture and design level of detail, technical solutions to ideas on our business roadmap aligned with ServiceNow, Java, and JavaScript best practices
• Lead functional discussions with the product owner and engineering teams (design, build, test teams)
• The position shares technical leadership for the team with four other architects and ensures that all designs created by the team are aligned to the architecture principles of ServiceNow, Java, and JavaScipt and should be reusable, reliable, scalable, and adaptive
• Takes overall ownership for the quality of the technical requirements delivered to our business users
• Understand customer requirements, translate to solutions, and communicate to clients
• Write/estimate Features, monitor Developer's work, and own overall quality and delivery of development; may perform a portion of development on Stories that cannot be delegated
• Maintain expert knowledge of the ServiceNow platform and products
• Recommend innovative ideas to help continuously improve the Optum product portfolio including the design, build, deploy, test and production support
• Provide mentorship and guidance to other members of the team

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of combined software engineering and architecture experience
• 5+ years of experience designing architecture business systems and documentation
• 1+ years of experience with Java
• Experience implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or 2 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience with scripting in the ServiceNow platform using JavaScript (Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Actions, UI Pages, Angular JS, etc.)
• Experience working on the ServiceNow platform
• Experience with direct reports
• Experience in one of the following product lines: CSM, HR, ITBM, ITOM, Performance Analytics, SecOps
• Experience building and shipping production web enabled software in a scaled distributed environment
• Experience with Automated Unit Testing and Integration Testing
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist for ITSM (CIS-ITSM)
• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD)
• Knowledge of ITIL, minimum Foundation level, ideally higher
• Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Deployment Strategies
• Fundamental understanding of the key technologies relevant to the ServiceNow integration solutions including: SSO, SAML, SSL, Web Services, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, REST
• Git version control

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only : The salary range for Colorado/Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $97,300 to $176,900.
