US Work from Home POSITION SUMMARY The Financial Systems Developer (VBA Developer) is responsible for the design and development of the Excel based Express Scripts Underwriting Model and numerous other analytical tools used to accurately and efficiently forecast profitability. This role will require extensive knowledge, primarily in Excel based VBA as well as the ability to work with multiple databases (Oracle, Teradata, and/or Hadoop). Other software skills such as Tableau, Alteryx, Python, etc. would be a great addition. The developer is a resource for users to understand the technology delivered, or performing ad hoc analyses, or improving the quality of underwriting assumptions used in our modeling. This position will work with Underwriting, Supply Chain, Budget, and other Finance departments to identify opportunities for model enhancements in an effort to improve the accuracy of Express Scripts' profitability forecasting and user experience. This position will also assist in testing model enhancements for accuracy and usability before changes are released to production. Enhancements include, but are not limited to, model calculations, assumption management, and user interface (UI) design. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Design, program, analyze, and test our Pricing models, which are primarily based in Excel and heavily supported by VBA & SQL. Work with business owners to develop requirements for enhancements and new functionality. Develop an expert knowledge of the primary tools & applications used within the Pricing Development & Support team. Compile, analyze, and prepare ad hoc reports, graphs, and charts of PBM data developed using various programs including, but not limited to, Excel, VBA, SQL, Alteryx, and/or Tableau. Provide support to end-users by maintaining the team's support mailbox and trouble-shooting individual users' models. Provide training to the Underwriting group around SOPs and best-practices for using the Pricing team's tools and applications. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience; preferred majors/minors include Actuarial Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Finance, or Economics. 4+ years of relevant experience. Expert level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Visual Basic (VBA) development. Working knowledge in SQL, Oracle, Tableau, Alteryx, Python, R, Jira, and/or Confluence is a plus. Possess strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent Communication skills, oral and written. Ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Ensure that solutions are innovative, thorough, practical and consistent with organizational objectives. Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload to meet project deadlines. Possess a willingness to learn new tools and applications. Work well independently as well as in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
