What you will be doing:

Product Development Function Management:

Coordinate product development projects from Voice of the Customer (VOC) input sessions through final hand-off to Manufacturing Team.
Manage the execution of product development projects through the initial production phases in partnership with Manufacturing Operations.
Initiate leadership in achieving outstanding design solutions for products and standard design modules/assemblies that reduce cost, increase quality and/or productivity.
Provide leadership in standardizing design modules/assemblies at the appropriate level to allow for maximum flexibility for the customer to create configurable unit designs.
Assist with the documentation of product design standards.
Organize feedback of design improvements from Manufacturing Team in partnership with Engineering Manager.
Lead the design review processes as needed to ensure accurate designs and understanding of those designs by manufacturing.
Contribute in the proposal and submittal process as needed with Sales Team to develop unique solutions for high profile or strategic projects.
Participate in post-shipment troubleshooting as needed with Field Service Team and coordinate with Engineering Manager to support as needed.

Technical:

Select mechanical components in partnership with Supply Chain team to optimize performance, cost, and quality with adherence to design specifications.
Coordinate electrical system design and electrical component selection in partnership with Engineering Manager.
Create unit designs with selected mechanical and electrical components to achieve overall design specifications.
Establish the release of initial prototypes including all documentation necessary to ensure Manufacturing Team can successfully build the product.
Generate supporting data and documentation within ERP system to ensure product development process is successful.
Develop test criteria and coordinate testing of prototypes and/or new components for evaluation.
Propose modifications to CDI Design Standards and Best Practices. Prepare Engineering Change Order (ECO) actions related to change proposals.
Assist with product compliance and third party certification process as needed.

Qualifications:

Education:

B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent experience and demonstrated performance (required).
Coursework and/or seminars in Product Development processes.
Coursework and/or seminars in Project Management.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of experience in a Product Development role of HVAC equipment, Electrical-Mechanical Equipment, or related field.
Experience in 3D CAD solid modeling (preferred)
Sound knowledge and past experience in desiccant and/or HVAC equipment (desired).
Electrical systems and component experience and knowledge (beneficial).
