Cybertrol Engineering creates and delivers custom-engineered automation hardware and software solutions to manufacturing customers throughout the upper Midwest and around the world. The CAD Designer will generate electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical while following standard Cybertrol procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Design three phase, single phase, DC and analog electrical circuits with input from Hardware Design Engineer and CAD Manager
Create mechanical layout drawings for control panel assembly and build
Maintain a high level of detail and consistency regarding standards and design practices
Work with Autodesk Vault document management system to ensure project file continuity and revision control
Collaborate with CAD design team to solve problems and help develop new standards and processes as requested
Collaborate with Hardware Design Engineers to complete projects per company and customer standards
Collaborate with Panel Shop Technicians to ensure drawings meet the desired quality needed to complete the panel build and checkout processes
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
2-year technical degree in electrical or design field
Electrical design experience using AutoCAD Electrical or similar software (EPLAN)
Relevant experience in controls and/or panel design
Knowledge and experience with UL 508a and NFPA 70 (NEC)
DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Electrical design experience using AutoCAD Electrical, Vault and EPLAN
Relevant experience in controls and/or panel design
Knowledge and experience with UL 508a and NFPA 70 (NEC)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of basic electrical circuits
Self-motivated with ability to meet deadlines independently and as part of a team
Ability to forge positive working relationships with a wide variety of people
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be dependable and on time to work daily
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Office work: Office desk/cubicle environment with extensive computer use
Shop work: Control panel as built checkouts in panel shop
