About Little Stars
Little Stars Daycare Center provides a safe, caring homelike atmosphere for children, while providing for their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Our teachers and staff operate as a little community and have the ability to create meaningful and close relationships with the children and parents. We are located in Golden Valley at our Meridian and Orion Service's Corporate Office. Little Stars is licensed for 10 infants and toddlers combined and 10 preschoolers. We typically have 4-5 infants attending and 4-5 toddlers per day. Our daycare provides quality care and education for our employees' children and residents of Golden Valley, MN. Our employees work through Meridian, Orion or Zenith Services.

About the Teacher Position -
We are looking for a preschool teacher who wants to be creative, make fun art projects, play hide and go seek, have dance parties, plant a garden and watch it grow! At Little Stars, we believe in teaching children through not only curriculum but also through everyday play opportunities. Our preschool is licensed for up to 10 children.

At Little Stars, our staff have the opportunity to contribute to curriculum development and developing activities to stimulate the children and their learning. Teachers provide daily and weekly schedules for the classroom, supervise and play with the children, teach children acceptable socialization skills and focus on learning the alphabet, colors, numbers, attend to children's needs, create art and craft projects with the children, and discuss development with parents. This position will float throughout the day, working with each age group - infants, toddlers and preschool children as needed.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive infant, toddler and preschool curriculum based on best practices and research on early brain development and learning. As we provide an enriched, stimulating environment, filled with child-initiated learning experiences, children are offered the opportunity to learn and develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge necessary to becoming independent, productive individuals.

Responsibilities include:
Following weekly curriculum for the children
Art and craft projects designed for infants
Assess children's needs and development
Assist in quarterly conferences
Work closely with families
Feeding, playing, cuddling
Assist in completing walk throughs of the child care center to ensure items are in safe working order
Ensure health and safety of children
Assist in daily cleaning tasks of the center
Attend childcare trainings
Engage and encourage children to develop physically, emotionally and socially.

Location: Golden Valley, MN

Hours: FT - 40 hours/week - Mon-Fri between the hours of 8am-4pm

Wage: $16.75 per hour plus benefits

Requirements:
Must be at least 18 and meet one of nine possible combined credential, education and experience requirements, such as a high school diploma with 4,160 hours experience as an assistant teacher and 24 quarter credits in a child care-related field.
