Operational Risk Officer (VP/Hybrid)

CBORC Organization Description: The Consumer Business Operational Risk and Control organization is a function that resides within the business (first line of defense), established to consistently deliver a remarkable experience for our Global Consumer Banking clients, reduce risk, meet heightened regulatory expectations and embed a strong risk culture for our employees globally. This position will be part of the Global Consumer Bank Operations & Fraud Prevention CBORC organization.

The Operational Risk Officer will report directly to the Sr. Operational Risk Manager that supports the Global ATM Channel, Citishare and Global Payment Network organization, and be a key contributor to support the governance efforts and MCA (Manager's Control Assessment) responsibilities.

Job Description: The Operational Risk Officer will lead key activities related to Manager's Control Assessment (MCA) compliance in partnership with the Global ATM, Citishare and Global Payment Network team. The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities spanning governance, oversight, and execution. It involves direct communication and interaction with the GOFP CBORC Leadership teams, in conjunction with our business partners to effectively identify, measure, mitigate and monitor operational risks through standard frameworks in alignment with the overall business risk appetite.

Responsibilities:

• Support MCA activities primarily focusing on:
  • Risk identification
  • Coordinate and provide information for the QRA (Quarterly Risk Assessment), ARA (Annual Risk Assessment), and Entity presentations
  • Participate in ARA and QRA/Entity Meetings
  • Oversee/ensure issues are opened to address control deficiencies identified
  • Drive risk escalation process where controls cannot be enhanced
  • Acceptance/Rejection of new and edited EMPs (Enterprise MCA Profiles)/SMP (Standard MCA Profiles)
• Identify and work with business teams to develop new KIs or Business Metrics based on residual risk severity
• Business Risk Forums & Committees (BRCC/ORF) - Provide MCA, Emerging Risk and Escalations as needed
• Problem/Issue Escalation - Escalate internally as issues or problems arise
• Responsible to review and respond to MCA Challenges
• Participate in response to other challenges, to support the business, as required by management

This role will provide the candidate with the opportunity to develop solid understanding of the Global Consumer Bank Operations & Fraud Prevention CBORC organization, to contribute to the definition and roll-out of solutions aimed at mitigating operational risk, and to build relationships with key stakeholders in regional and functional units.

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience

Qualifications:

• 5-7+ years of experience required
• Knowledge of Operational Risk Management (ORM) Policy & Procedures and GRC MCA standard
• Knowledge of GRC Platform: Citi Risk & Controls (CR&C)
• Familiarity and ability to assist with other enterprise wide policies such as Records Management, COB, Model Risk Inventory, etc. is preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, willingness, and ability to work across all levels of organization
• Ability to influence teams, with non-direct reporting lines, including teams comprised of senior managers
• Quick learner, with ability to understand complex requirements and translate into clear and simple guidance for the business
• Ability to create a strong network of relationships among peers, internal partners, external constituencies, and decision makers to deliver results
• Ability to work in an agile environment and easily adapts to changing demands and priorities
• Self-starter who can work independently and with limited supervision
• Self-motivated and results oriented

This position is hybrid (in office 2-3 days per week) from any US Citi Operations site, other US cities will be considered.
