What We Need:


The Senior Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer is responsible for developing, and executing processes and activities required to certify new products to the latest regulations including environmental regulations. This individual will provide budget and time line data to the various development teams, and execute plans to ensure proper product compliance in the global markets in which Brady does business. The individual will support Brady's electro-mechanical devices (mainly printers/applicators/accessories) as well as some support for other high-performance products that the company offers if required. The position will provide compliance efforts for New Product Development (NPD), Small Market Projects (SMP) and Sustaining projects helping to ensure development of the highest quality compliant products. In addition, the Senior Product Regulatory Compliance Engineer will communicate emerging or changing global and country/region- specific regulations and provide interpretations to Brady's cross-functional global teams, at times engaging with industry associations, government representatives and other external stakeholders.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Stay current on applicable Standards and Regulations and communicate these across the organization as required, including advising how they impact Brady products and costs.
  • Create, develop and modify (as necessary) processes that help insure compliance work is done efficiently, meeting published time lines, milestones and budgets.
  • Work hand in hand with our New Product Development (NPD), Small Market Project (SMP) and Sustaining teams to develop and execute testing as required for regulatory compliance, and to contribute to the on time launch of products.
  • Manage all required reporting to agencies for Brady's existing products, to maintain compliance in the various countries that require renewals.
  • Provide the reliable execution of documented certification processes to achieve quality, cost, workflow, and on-time product delivery goals.
  • Follow all Regulatory submittals through complete process to insure approvals are received in time for planned production. Intervene where necessary to assure timely, technically correct, approval is received to support product schedule.
  • Prepare appropriate documentation and sample submission packages. Initiate and manage NRTL (National Recognized Test Laboratory) projects. Examples of NRTL's include UL, CSA, TUV and more.
  • This position will be located in Milwaukee, WI and requires 10-20% travel.


What You'll Need To Be Successful:


  • A BS degree in a technical or scientific discipline, and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a compliance position.
  • Knowledge of EU CE marking process, and other regulatory requirements/certification processes e.g., CCC (China), NOM, FCC, BIS, and UL standards and testing. Some exposure in one or more of the following areas is a plus: REACH, RoHS, Prop65, and California Safer Consumer products.
  • Knowledge of Global regulatory processes/standards is required for all major regions. (US, Europe, Asia)
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills are required.
