How You'll Help Us Connect the World

As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible to support, from a quality perspective, new product development projects for Fiber product portfolio under the Connectivity and Cable Solutions business segment. You will work closely with the quality, engineering, operations, product line management, and project management departments to have successful product launches into manufacturing sites.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Participate on new product development, sustaining, investigation and cost reduction projects assigned, overseeing adherence to the documented Product Development Process procedures.
  • Complete quality deliverables (control plan, packaged product review and retrospective review) for assigned new product development projects on a timely manner.
  • Support the resolution of lab testing non-conformances for assigned projects, using the 5 whys root cause analysis technique.
  • Follow up on open lab non-conformances and drive reduction of backlog.
  • Participate on D and PFMEAs for assigned projects and monitor completeness and use of proper ratings.
  • Lead the resolution of design related customer or internal complaints to determine proper root cause and corrective/preventive actions.
  • Support the Quality Monitoring Program, including the review of test plan, test report and ensuring the resolution of identified non-conformances.
  • Review and analyze customer complaint data, including no trouble founds, to identify repetitive issues, common root causes and trends to help drive reduction on overall complaints.
  • Review and analyze lab non-conformances to identify repetitive failure modes and trends by product family found during validation testing.
  • Support special quality projects or initiatives as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related curriculum and a good understanding of quality concepts, problem solving and process improvement techniques, root cause analysis, 8D methodology, FMEAs, control plans, SPC, CpK, DOEs, poke yoke.
  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
