This role has been designated as Hybrid work schedule and will be based out of our La Crosse, WI.
We have a very exciting opportunity for a Portfolio Leader to join our organization leading Trane's Customer Direct Service (C.D.S. ) group. C.D.S. has a 50-year Legacy of creating innovative design and analysis tools that help our customers create better, more efficient buildings. As the head of this exceptional team, this role leads the execution of product management and commercialization activities for all C.D.S. building design and analysis software tools. This entails direct leadership, collaboration, delegation, and coordination in areas of product strategy, development, training, support, commercialization, and order fulfillment. In addition, this role develops and manages working relationships with a cross-functional international team of engineering development resources, the Trane Modeling and Simulation Network of Excellence, HVAC product management, and development consultants to effectively execute C.D.S. product strategies.
Responsibilities:
Define and execute a multi-year vision and strategy for the team in alignment with Trane's long-term goals and initiatives
Develop team talent and culture that delivers world class customer driven products and services using agile product management methodologies
Functional leadership and management of the C.D.S. team
Collect, organize, and prioritize internal and external voice of customer for clear and efficient translation into market and product requirements.
Define solution value propositions for the portfolio and be accountable for the overall go to market plan, including adoption goals, commercialization, pricing/licensing, and partner strategies.
Work with other project leads to provide updates of incremental financial, quality, and product/project status
Complete competitive assessments and data-driven pricing analysis/strategy through deep industry knowledge and involvement
Define clear, measurable goals and metrics for the overall group and the portfolio of products that represent success for our customers and our business
Host and/or lead discussions as a part of customer visits.
Travel to regional offices, corporate/industry events, and customer sites in support of C.D.S. products and services. This will include formal presentations and individual discussions of technical HVAC topics.
Minimum qualifications:
BS Engineering, Business, or other related technical degree
A minimum of 7 years of experience in Product Management or closely related roles
Experience in the HVAC industry
Strong analytical skills
Customer facing experience
Technical skills:
Technical aptitude and experience required
Strong grasp of HVAC and building simulation fundamentals preferred
Experience with agile software development processes and Trane's Business Operating Systems preferred
Strong aptitude with MS Office Professional - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Outlook and the ability to learn and comprehend new and complex systems and software packages.
Knowledge of HVAC products and systems is a plus
Successful completion of Trane's Graduate Training Program preferred

Provide creative development solutions using both existing and newly acquired development tools and methodologies.

Demonstrates active listening and communications skills. Must be able to articulate and present ideas in a clear, concise, and logical manner. Ability to communicate with and understand highly technical subject matter experts and translate material into curriculum for less technical learners.
Build successful internal and external employee relationships to foster productivity and a sense of urgency that provides superior customer and end-user experiences.
Communicate and interact effectively within teams, management, SME's & vendors to facilitate effective resolution to systems and curriculum content development project barriers and problems.
Base Compensation Range is $120,500-$250,000
