The Sr. Strategic Account Executive is an experienced account management executive that has demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy benefit management activities including relationship building, contracts, client negotiations, operations, compliance, and regulatory affairs. This individual must have exceptional verbal, written and presentation skill sets to effectively manage all aspects of the contract. Responsible for supporting the client's compliance with Federal and State regulations including CMS, Federal and State. Providing operational oversight and support to the team.

The Sr. SAE will work with cross functional partners to develop and execute strategy to support client retention goals, audits, and innovation. This individual will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring team members and may have indirect client management reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Lead (e.g., global or enterprise operational initiatives to support regulatory requirements for all lines of business, Client, CMS or State audits, contract management)
  • Oversight, team management and client implementation of new CMS, State and Federal requirements
  • Lead reporting and present data analytics (e.g., QPR, rebate guarantees, MAC, pricing network guarantees)
  • Sales/Upsell - identify and maintain pipeline of upsell opportunities in Salesforce
  • Lead marketing efforts to drive growth and create upsell opportunities
  • Operational Oversight recognizing operational opportunities to enhance Regulatory compliance/effectiveness
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Leadership second point of escalation (internal/external): serves as the escalation point of contact for managing highly visible issues, and requests, and enhancements
  • Contract compliance and negotiations: overall responsibility and oversight for execution of contract service delivery (e.g., audits, SLAs, and contract amendments)
  • Overall responsibility of Enterprise projects, audits, and annual readiness
  • Client Retention: primary contact to client and to internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence, participates in discussions related to client renewal

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Healthcare and Account Management experience
  • 5+ year of experience with Medicare/Medicaid
  • Experience with PBM tools to create marketing materials, RFP responses, financial and data reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, or New York City Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $97,300 to $176,900. The salary range for Connecticut/Nevada/New York City residents is $97,300 to $176,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
