Job Description

An Electrical Engineering Manager is responsible for completing the following duties:
  • Coordinate layout and design of electrical systems
  • Take new product ideas from concept through the engineering process to final design
  • Coordinate new product designs with engineering department, product managers and vendors
  • Ensure products are designed according to marketing specifications, proper engineering practices, applicable design codes & standards, and economic & manufacturability parameters
  • Lead the electrical engineering staff to accomplish top quarterly priorities
  • Establish and maintain design standards, checklists, and procedures for standard products
  • Oversee the development and maintenance ofBOM's
  • Evaluate design changes for feasibility and integrity
  • Organize cost reduction and improvement projects on current electrical systems
  • Perform competitive analyses on competitors' products
  • Ensure the electrical engineering department provides solutions for programming, designing and implementation of engineering systems for Superior equipment
  • Manage the electrical engineering group through effective leadership and coaching
  • Recruit and develop the team skills
  • Troubleshoot and support field service on electrical systems
  • Assist the sales department on technical opportunities
  • Engineering and design information for products is properly developed, documented, and maintained
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Electrical controls, electrical power system design(480V,120V,24VDC), and machine design
    • Electrical specifications and standards (UL, NFPA, ect.)
    • Commonly used software packages including: Autocad, AB Studio 5000, AB RSLogix 500,CODESYS
