As Winding's Manufacturing Engineering Manager you will be responsible for:


Provide technical guidance, scheduling, mentoring and management of the Manufacturing Engineering group to achieve individual and team results, direct performance of individuals and the team; and support employees in developing their skills consistent with the business goals and objectives.

Manage manufacturing engineering resources to assure schedule, budget and paperwork are complete for all products within the organization.

Position is responsible for all routing and required engineering instructions to assure successful assembly and testing of all hardware. This includes but is not limited to standardized instructions for all internal processes, testing requirements and tooling/fixturing.

Ensure proper planning and execution of customer requirements as defined by prints, POs, specifications and/or other documentation.

Accountable for the performance and improvements of the department in achieving individual and department quarterly goals, providing individualized performance feedback and conducting performance reviews; and support employee development.

Mentoring of Manufacturing Engineering staff to assure continued growth and development of reporting staff as well as operators for assurances that operators are trained on new or existing hardware.

Suggest and conduct defined tasks for the purpose of improved process understanding and quality improvement using commonly accepted concepts, practices, and engineering methodologies.

Interact occasionally with other production facilities as needed to maintain production of assigned customers and products.

Recommend new manufacturing processes and technologies for procedural development of new product technologies and existing products.

Evaluate legacy systems and processes and recommend improvements by involving cross functional resources, when necessary.

Conduct, lead, and be consulted on Root Cause and Corrective action and failure analysis activities that impact the organizations performance.

Interface with all departments to assure communication of projects goals and requirements.

Lead project teams to successfully complete new projects.

What you need


Education:

4-year degree in a technical field required. Engineering degree related to mechanical engineering or manufacturing preferred.


Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience managing and developing reports. Experience developing engineering reports preferred.


Knowledge/Skills:

Must exhibit a curious, positive, team-oriented, enthusiastic approach.

Excellent problem-solving skills. Strong independent decision making and analytical abilities to make on the spot decisions.

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

Great work ethic and willingness to ethically do what needs to be done.

Proficient computer skills and experience with Solid works, Microsoft Office, or similar software.

Understanding of machining capabilities and technologies.

May require up to 10% travel to customers and suppliers.
