Job Details Remote Applications Manager role - Live Anywhere in the Surrounding US States What you will do Responsible for providing technical assistance, system design and management, and subject matter expertise to support the Government Technologies Division Program Management Office (PMO) projects and programs through the design and review of program related integrated systems for customers of the PMO. Analyze customer needs; determine systems objectives and requirements; and develop solutions for new or existing applications. Develop technical support criteria and guidelines for Program Office accounts, provide user training, analyze Program Office customer applications systems issues and provide mentorship and support to field Installation / Service Teams and customers nationwide. How you will do it Review equipment application, ensuring equipment compatibility and accurate application of systems products to meet customer requirements and/or specifications Read and understand complicated blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, software, system programs and operation / product manuals. Ensure proper accuracy of technical take-offs from contract drawings and prepare questions to be submitted for clarification. Value engineer all project specifications with the aim of customer satisfaction and project profitability. Identify and prepare project submittal documentation including revised working drawings, installation drawings and final acceptance documentation and follow up to ensure approval. Research and follow prescribed trouble shooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, parts manuals, change notices and bulletins in order to diagnose and correct system issues. Provide ongoing technical assistance to the PMO, the customer, their clients and the Johnson Controls field organization during all phases of projects. Provide on-call high level escalated technical support to field technicians, customers and their clients. Collaborate with customers and Johnson Controls' personnel in the design, theories of operation, setting standards, and maintenance schedules for equipment configuration. Create and recommend solutions. Provide technical assistance to Business Operations and field organization at system start up ensuring proper understanding by the field office regarding systems intent. Bench test and program all access control, intercom, and CCTV systems prior to shipment to the field for installation. Provide in-field programming and support for all systems at time of commissioning. Audits installed systems to ensure proper product revision control and customer support. Advise technicians in performing all other system installation or service work. Access system software and hardware correcting programming issues; refer repair issues to service as necessary. Develop and maintain technical documents providing instruction to field personnel regarding the installation, operation, or maintenance of security components (wiring diagrams, block diagrams, schematic diagrams, step-by-step instructions, elevations, etc.); Direct, instruct, train, and demonstrate to the customer's field staff, on the integrated systems and computers. Where customer high level security for network protocol dictates, apply customer's requirements to customize applications, individually or in partnership with customer's IT, providing configuration and program assistance to modify standard programs as permitted by the system manufacturer. Ability to understand outdated, legacy type equipment and propose new solutions or integrate into new equipment. Have complete understanding of infrastructure requirements as it pertains to equipment being proposed or supported (cabling, power, environmental, conduits / raceways, etc. What we look for Required Experience 3-5 years broad based security industry field experience with emphasis on computer-based installation and repair (including some IT experience). Skills Demonstrated proficiency and experience in reading blueprints, CAD design and/or blueprint design Solid working knowledge and understanding of electronics or electrical theory Ability to implement existing configuration standards and recommend new configurations which perform more efficiently. High level of proficiency in: PC literacy, Microsoft Office Visio (or other graphics program) and Excel and Integrating Access Control, CCTV, Intercom and IDS. Strong understanding of integration concepts with ability to quickly acquire specialized knowledge as required by the PMO. Excellent interpersonal skills: Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with all levels of the internal Johnson Controls' organization, customer organizations, and customer vendors and contractors. Knowledge Database connectivity, basic LAN protocols and serial communications Hirsch-Identiv Access control, Bosch VMS experience and Commend intercom experience (certification a plus).
