Summary

The Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician will have experience working in a machining facility. Under the direct supervision of the Shop Superintendent, the Technician will be responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs on machine equipment, facility equipment, and property structures. All work will be done in compliance with our safety rules and regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  1. Ability to work unsupervised
  2. Must have general knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot minor facility repairs
  3. Basic fabrication skills including carpentry and welding is a plus
  4. Experience performing preventative and predictive maintenance on a variety of equipment
  5. Must be able to comply with safety standards and procedures

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Building maintenance / electrical / and plumbing background a plus
  • Mechanical aptitude is a plus

While performing the duties and responsibilities of this position, the employee is occasionally required to walk, use foot/feet to operate machine, reach above shoulders and move from place to place. The incumbent will regularly stand, sit and talk and listen and will frequently use hands to finger, handle or touch. Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

During the performance of his/her work duties, the incumbent will be required to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds, and will frequently lift up to 25 pounds such as moving parts from material storage and moving parts in and out of work area.
