Summary As a Technical Support Manager, you will provide overall management and line control for the Northern Service Center Operations Division (NSCOD) technical and professional project management staff and will collaborate with senior regional staff on project management strategy, operations and program direction. Help Duties This position is located in the PBS, Northern Service Center Operations Division, Project Management Branch. This division is responsible for all aspects of facility operations, including operating, maintaining, and sustaining high quality work environments. This position has job functions that must be executed within a specific geographic location. The official duty station is a federal facility or leased space. Positions include routine telework that are geographically specific to: Chicago, IL; Springfield, IL; Indianapolis, IN; Milwaukee, WI; Battle Creek, MI; Grand Rapids, MI; Detroit, MI; Cincinnati, OH; Cleveland, OH; Columbus, OH; Minneapolis, MN; Fort Snelling, MN and St. Paul, MN. The selected candidate will serve as the branch manager for the project management branch. Examples of duties may include: Oversees the operations of teams engaged in the full scope of project execution for space renovations and smaller construction projects. Oversees the Service Center's A/E and construction services and building repairs and alterations, working closely with contracting staff and other professionals outside of the SC organization. Contributes to the assessment, continuity and ongoing effectiveness of assigned activities performed within the Service Center, to ensure that all technical requirements and client expectations are met. Determines the most efficient and economical manner by which to accomplish assigned workload, establishes priorities, and provides positive direction to teams. Resolves problems encountered by the teams supervised and/or recommends a course of action to subordinate supervisors as requested. To qualify, you must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is leading people in diverse occupations (professional, technical, administrative and trades) in the overall administration and management of repair, renovations, and/or whole commercial office building modernization construction projects. Such experience must include managing the entire project life cycle; i.e., project planning, construction scheduling, construction logistics, budgeting, estimating, cost analysis and control, utilization of resource allocation models to develop cost and personnel budgets, conducting contract negotiations, contract administration and close-out.
