Dryland Research Assistant (Temp/Seasonal)

Position Information

This is a temporary/seasonal, non-benefited position located in Williston,ND. This position is to start immediately. No prior experience in agriculture is required but a positive attitude, williness to work hard and detail-oriented individual with team spirit is.

Description, Duties & Responsibilities:
Candidate is required to work under both lab and field settings.
Responsibilities include:

• Preparing Seed
• Planting
• Data Collecting
• Weed Management (spraying, hand pulling)
• Mowing
• Soil and Plant Sample Collecting and processing
• Assist in Flying Drones
• Assist in managing irrigation
• Harvesting
• Data Entry
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements & Competencies:

• Willingness to learn
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
• Ability to pass a criminal background screening
• Must have a valid Driver's License
• Should able to or have a desire to learn driving and operating farm tractor, sprayer, forklift, etc.

Work Location:

• NDSU - Williston Research Extension Center

Hours & Schedule:

• Mon-Fri 8:00am-5:00pm
