Position Information

Join NDSU Dining and help feed the herd! Located in the heart of NDSU's campus, enjoy state-of-the art facilities and a fun, lively environment. Our team members help create the culinary experience by preparing and serving food for NDSU students, faculty, staff and guests. In addition, this position will assure food safety protocols are met in the food production and service areas, as well as maintaining equipment used at workstations. In this position, you are guaranteed 40 hours per week with 10 paid holidays, plus paid vacation and sick time. Position Description & Details:
  • Performs all necessary duties to serve food and ensure the needs of NDSU students, faculty, staff and campus visitors are met
  • Assure that strict attention is given to quality, presentation, portion control and proper temperature maintenance for all food items being produced
  • Provide leadership for the recruitment, selection, training, supervision and evaluation of staff in the food court operations & campus coffee shops
  • Provide continuous training and feedback to develop full-time, part-time and student staff
  • Serve as a role model and leader for staff in customer service and teamwork

Work Schedule: 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm Monday thru Friday. Day hours during summer, semester and school year breaks

Advertised Salary: $19.50 to $21.50/hr depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a food service operation
  • Minimum 1 year cooking experience
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience in a food service operation
  • Cash handling Experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • College or university food service experience preferred
  • Barista experience preferred
  • Food Safety Certification preferred
