Description
The responsibility of the position is to coordinate the day-to-day activities between Housing and Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) for the maintenance repairs and inspections of all housing buildings. This position requires multi-tasking skills, willingness to adapt to change, the ability to work with a diverse group of staff and students, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification
$45,000 / year; non-exempt; benefited; full-time
Work Schedule
Monday - Friday; 8:00 A.M. - 4:30 P.M.; May require some evening and weekend work

Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform pre-vacate inspections of apartments and coordinate necessary cleaning and maintenance
- Perform residence hall maintenance inspections during off peak times of occupancy
- Inspect completed maintenance
- Manage submission and follow through of work order requests
- Monitor maintenance progress, issues, and projects
- Perform visual checks of all housing buildings and grounds
- Provide assistance in relocating furniture, appliances, and equipment
- Provide verbal and written communication to residents regarding maintenance requests
- Escort outside vendors or contractors
- Investigate, document, and report safety concerns
Required Competencies
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to understand time requirements of trades involved
- Ability to coordinate schedules and provide direction for complex tasks involving multiple groups
- Ability to problem solve and provide effective solutions
Minimum Requirements
- Associate degree in fields related to construction, facilities management, building maintenance or 3+ years directly related experience
- Maintenance or building services experience
- Successful completion of criminal history records check

- Property management experience
