Position Information

Description & Details: The Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department at North Dakota State University has a postdoctoral research associate position available. The individual will 1) Guide projects or assist the PI with ongoing research projects primarily related to studying the Allowable Storage Time of soybean; 2) Design and conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, publish research results in journals as well as at scientific and stakeholder meetings; 4) mentor graduate and undergraduate students: 5) assist the PI in writing and preparing grant proposals, and ensuring compliance with the Safety Office; 6) Interact with personnel at NDSU and in agri-business. Initially, this position is offered for calendar year 2023 with the potential for continuation dependent upon the individual's performance and/or funding.

Work Schedule: Full Time

Advertised Salary: Commensurate with experience and ABEN salaries.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering or closely related field; Demonstrated research experience; Demonstrated ability to analyze data and publish research results; Competency in statistical analysis; A driving license; Ability to work independently and as part of a team; Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with soybean storage research including determining germination, fungi infestation, oil quality; colorimeter measurements; and measuring physical parameters. Experience working with climate chambers, and a willingness and competency for physically working with research apparatus.
