Physical Education Teacher - Elementary

K-4th Grade French Immersion Physical Education Teacher - 0.25 FTE Job Summary Notre ??cole, a French Immersion STEAM, charter school, seeks qualified and passionate educators to teach elementary students in Physical Education for the school year. The ideal teacher will create a flexible educational program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education in accordance with each student's ability; to establish good relationships with parents and other staff members. Duties of this job include, but are not limited to: ??? Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject manner. ??? Works as part of a team to create lesson plans, teach students, evaluate student progress and create action plans for students who need extra attention in specific areas of study. ??? Evaluates academic and social growth of students, analyzes data, prepares report cards. ??? Translates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction. ??? Develops a multi-cultural learning environment for all students that emphasizes a respect for diversity. ??? Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom. ??? Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss students' progress and interpret the school program. ??? Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problems. ??? Must be flexible and willing to help in different roles at the school to meet various school needs, including being part of different school committees ??? Collaborates with key stakeholders as necessary to ensure purposeful implementation of the school's academic model and provide student enrichment opportunities that enhance academic achievement and cultural competency. ??? Establish positive working relationships with students, staff, families, and community resources. SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS ??? Minimum Bachelor's Degree: degree in the field of physical education preferred ??? Currently holds or demonstrate willingness to gain certification for Physical Education for elementary students in the State of Minnesota. ??? French fluency preferred ??? Must support the school's mission, philosophies and goals ??? Experience with elementary aged students ??? Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills ??? Proven ability to demonstrate effective communication, professional standards and ethical behavior ??? Ability to work effectively with school administration and school colleagues to ensure school culture and student achievement ??? Must pass a criminal background check and fingerprinting ??? Have knowledge of best practices, instructional strategies, classroom management and behavior management ??? Demonstrate respect for children, colleagues, parents and school leadership. Job Type: 0.25 FTE (part-time), 2 days a week. Can be combined with other jobs for more hours. Experience: ??? Teaching: 1 year experience minimum (preferred) Education: ??? Bachelor's or equivalent (Required) License: ??? Physical Education in the State of Minnesota (Preferred) OR Willingness to obtain a Tier license with the state of MN Language: ???
