SUMMARY: Works as a business partner to assigned business units to attain efficiencies in expense controls, increasing company revenues, and developing strategic plans for the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Organize operating and capital budgets, including ongoing analysis and reporting.
  • Oversee accounting records and procedures, including general ledger and subsidiary ledgers, and reconciliations of all asset and liability accounts.
  • Direct timely and accurate billing and collection of receivables.
  • Administer accounts payable and sales/use tax filings.
  • Monitor a variety of business activities and provide relevant management reports and financial analysis.
  • May calculate commissions and bonuses.
  • Develop company’s internal control procedures and continually evaluate the existing internal control environment.
  • Supervise accounting staff including development of individual goals leading to company and departmental efficiencies.
  • Other duties as assigned, including hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff.

 


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 5 years accounting experience, of which 2 years need to be as a supervisor.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.

 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

 

 

  • Must be a strategic thinker, astute financial analyst, and team leader.
  • Knowledge of accounting/finance principles, practices, regulations and laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is naturally in tune with leading continuous process improvements and is skilled in leading change initiatives
  • Ability to analyze information and juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starting individual.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Strong technology skills to include proficiency in spreadsheets and accounting software. Is able to mentor others to gain efficiencies through the use of technology. Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains experience a plus, but not required.

 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

 

 

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
  • Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.

 


WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

 

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, talk, hear, use hands to fingers, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance and stoop.
  • Occasionally required to lift and /or move up to 20 pounds.
  • Required to use close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
  • Works in an office setting.
  • Physical presence at company workplace initially required with opportunity for hybrid telecommuting schedule.
