Description

The Division of Marketing & Communications has a full-time, benefited position opening for a Marketing Coordinator. Join the chief promotion division of the University of North Dakota and serve as a key part of UND's team that focuses on the marketing and creative activities related to recruitment, retention, and brand.

The purpose of the Marketing Coordinator position is to serve as a key project manager for recruitment-related marketing projects. This role will report to the Marketing Manager responsible for recruitment marketing and will work in tandem to successfully lead the project management of marketing print pieces, event signage, and recruitment promotion, execute email marketing strategies and manage the day-to-day operation of the university's' customer relationship management systems used to communicate to prospective students.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work with Marketing Manager and Marketing & Creative Service team members to develop recruitment, retention, and branding campaigns for university partners including the Admissions and Financial Aid teams.
  • Serve as project manager and main point of contact for marketing and recruitment projects including collaborating with campus partners to organize kick-off meetings, in-take projects, developing marketing strategies and tactics, building project plans with tasks and timelines, overseeing plans to completion, and reporting on results.
  • Coordinate the development, production, and distribution of traditional and digital communications including printed publications, direct mail, signage, website, emails, videos, texting, social media, etc., in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Proactively manage email communications and messaging campaign intended for prospective students and their families built in customer relationship management (CRM) systems Pardot and Target X.
  • Communicate with various campus administrative offices and outside vendors to manage print, direct mail and promotional item projects.
  • Serve as writer, copy editor and / or proofreader for a variety of traditional and digital communications and provide input for enhanced clarity and/or creativity in messaging.
  • Assist with ordering promotional items and printed publications from commercial vendors following UND Procurement procedures.


Required Competencies

  • Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Strong written communication skills, including writing marketing copy for the media, print and/or the Web.
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, solve problems and make sound decisions.
  • Familiarity with higher education marketing trends, strategies, and tactics.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to have grace under pressure and work efficiently under time constraints while producing high quality work.
  • Ability to use and experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook), Internet, email and Web research
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integrated marketing plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to market programs and events, with a preference for experience in marketing educational or service-oriented programs.


Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, management or related field.
  • Demonstrated project management experience in creating project plans with concise, executable timelines and measurable results.
  • Experience working across diverse marketing and communication channels
  • Experience working in an environment with multiple deadlines, including demonstrated experience prioritizing and meeting multiple requests.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history records check.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year of proven experience in a marketing, communications, project management or advertising position, including branding, research, copy writing and editing, design, and promotions (including internships).
  • Experience using CRM software, such as Target X or Pardot.
  • Experience in working with direct mail and commercial vendors, including bid specifications, mailing list management, and print production.
  • Experience in market research techniques.
  • Experience in developing and managing a budget.
  • Experience using a project management software, such as Asana.
  • Experience using a website content management system, such as OmniUpdate.


Minimum Hiring Salary/Position Classification

$41,905 / year; exempt; benefited; full-time

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
