Northrop Grumman Information Services (NGIS) is currently seeking an experienced Program Quality Engineer to support the Armament Systems Business Unit within our Mission Assurance team at our Plymouth, Minnesota facility.

The ideal candidate shall possess related work experience working in Quality Engineering on quality system processes such as quality requirements management, inspection requirements, program related Non-Conformances and Corrective Actions, and process improvement.

The Program Quality Engineer will perform the following job functions:

Provides Quality Engineering support for program/project teams. Direct support activities include:
Ensure conformance to all quality related customer contract requirements
Identify and flow down supplier related quality requirements
Develop customer quality related documentation submissions
Develop and implement internal and supplier inspection requirements
Support receiving and in-process inspection
Process any program related Non-Conformance actions in conjunction with the program Material Review Board
Process any program related Corrective Action activities in conjunction with the Corrective Action Board.
Participate in Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System teams
Participate in and address quality related elements of program engineering design reviews
Provide internal and external QMS support
Develop and communicate program Quality Plans
Assist with customer audits or assessments
Provide knowledge of quality related best practices
Review program related supplier documentation for approval, such as Inspection Plans, Test Plans, Control Plans, Measurement System Documentation, First Article Inspection Reports, Physical Configuration Audit reports, Inspection data etc
Interface with Mission Assurance, Program Quality, Supplier Quality, and other internal partners
Support continuous improvement activities through the Continuous Improvement process and database
Assist or develop Quality Basis of Estimate (bids) for potential programs

Minimum Qualifications:

5 years quality experience BS in engineering/applied sciences (math, physics, etc.)
Manufacturing background desired, familiarity with material science, machining processes, fine-electromechanical assembly, or electronics assemblies desired.
Strong background in inspection equipment, techniques and general knowledge of Metrology and Calibration
Ability to work with multiple disciplines to create and implement quality/inspection requirements for new products
Solid understanding of Drawings and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Thorough knowledge of the 8D process for effective root cause determination and corrective actions
Strong interpersonal and communications , presentation and statistical analysis skills
Ability to quickly build trust and collaborative working relationships, to work with internal customers and suppliers on quality improvement activities
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
High Energy, results oriented, self-motivated/self-reliant, team player
Solid Understanding of Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA).
Computer and software expertise specifically MS Office products; Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Six Sigma Green or Black belt formal certification
Good understanding of the Six Sigma concepts.
ASQ Quality Engineer Certification (CQE)
Experience with Deltek CostPoint and TIPQA

Salary Range: $90,600 USD - $136,000 USD

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
